Hey guys im just about to start a window cleaning business in Australia… however i have a few questions and if anyone could answer them it would be greatly apreciated!

1) what chemicals do you think works the best for you?

2) does anyone know the best place to get equipment from online, for cheap?

3) how much should one charge for residential.. approx.?

4) in winter/wet weather, do you guys find there is a drop in how much work you get?

Hi MCDouga11, I’m based in Britain so it would be hard to compare but I use good quality washing up liquid for chemicals (Fairy Liquid). It comes up great and it’s a lot cheaper than purpose-made stuff. For equipment look up Ettore or Unger. They are generally considered to be the 2 best makes. I found the secret is to have as many tools on your belt as possible, so you’re not scrabbling around looking for them all the time. This makes you a lot quicker and makes you more money. Good luck!

1) i just use fairy liquid bt it can b cheaper to use something like glass gleam.
2)soapnational
3) depends on how much there is to to , generally 5 – 7 pounds
4) nope, generally stil the same

actually fairy liquid isnt cheaper than say Glass Gleam or unger soap because you only have to mix at a ratio of 500:1 ! plus fairy liquid contains A LOT of salt which causes more streaks, mainly in hot weather!
i used Fairy for years and its works ok but proper soap is better!

@MCDouga11 use dish washing soap for most windows , residential you can charge by window depends on your company your working for or by hour you can charge from 3 to 5 dollars per window (canadian money),, both sides or by hour you can go from 20 to up to 40 or more and hour,, not recommendable to work on wet weather its like a waste of your time because it pretty much ruins your work
